This resin art panel is a heartfelt creation by our studio in collaboration with David, blending the aesthetic of fragmented nature with the refined pleasure of collecting. From the very beginning of the design process, David envisioned it displayed alongside his treasured jerseys in his study—a space where the memory of sports and the texture of nature could engage in a silent dialogue.

In pursuit of the wooden form that embodied a sense of being “broken yet full of life,” I dedicated great effort to sourcing materials, carefully comparing the grains, cracks, and natural edges of various woods. When this particular piece finally appeared—its fractured contours brimming with a breath-like vitality, its wood grain seeming to suspend time itself—David knew at once: this was the “fragment of nature” he had been waiting for.

For the material combination, David deliberately chose a deep gray transparent resin. Like a veil of tranquil dusk settled over the wood, it is understated yet profound, with layers of depth that perfectly complement the ambiance he envisioned for his study—unassuming, yet imbued with a subtle undercurrent of sophistication.

In the surface finishing, we employed a contrasting technique of “matte wood, glossy resin.” The wood retains its original matte texture, offering a warm, rustic feel to the touch, while the resin is polished to a high shine, resembling a deep gray pool that reflects light and its surroundings. This delicate interplay of finishes accentuates the wood’s grain even more vividly against the resin, as if a landscape were captured and preserved in stillness.

When Eric from Miami approached me, he wasn’t just looking for a table; he wanted a piece of art that could converse with his home. We embarked on a creative journey together, ultimately setting our sights on classic walnut wood. To give it a more personal touch, we decided to apply a color-changing finish to the wood surface, endowing it with a unique hue. For the resin, we chose a sophisticated gray as the base, accented with mesmerizing blue waves reminiscent of Miami’s coastline.

The final result of this table is stunning: it stands like a composed gentleman, maintaining an elegant harmony with its surroundings, yet also like a passionate dancer, illuminating the entire space with its flowing blue waves, becoming the irreplaceable visual centerpiece of the home.

Geoffrey, hailing from the sunny coast of California, stumbled upon us while preparing for his newlywed life. This young architect, who had just embarked on the journey of marriage with his beloved, was contemplating how to choose a dining table for their new home—one that combined both aesthetic appeal and practicality. It needed to fit the limited space of their cozy apartment while also reflecting the couple’s understanding of life’s aesthetics.

When he described his needs to us via email, we sensed his delicate vision of “home”: a table where the two could share breakfast in the morning light and converse softly as night fell. It had to be simple, warm, and capable of withstanding the test of time. With this in mind, we selected the walnut and resin table with a paired design for him—the sturdy grain of the dark walnut and the modern clarity of the transparent resin achieved a delicate balance. The paired design endowed the tabletop with a flowing rhythm, as if shaped by nature itself, while its perfectly proportioned size fit the flexible layout of their compact space.

On the evening the table arrived in California, Geoffrey sent us a photo: the table stood quietly by the floor-to-ceiling window, the walnut grain glowing softly in the sunset, and two sets of tableware, reflected in the transparent resin, seemed to float in the twilight. He wrote, “It feels as though it was made for our home—not too big, not too small, just right to hold our everyday moments.” Now, this table has become a silent companion in their lives, recording the aroma of morning coffee, the laughter of weekend dinners, and all the small yet certain joys that belong to the newlywed days.
